Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to lead and mentor a team of engineers in the preparation, organization, and submission of drawings for transportation and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in infrastructure design, including roadways, utilities, drainage, and stormwater management systems. This role requires advanced training and professional experience in civil engineering, with proficiency in OpenRoads and MicroStation software. The candidate should also possess strong communication skills with the ability to conduct project presentations and serve as the primary point of contact with clients.
In addition to leading infrastructure design, this position provides a unique opportunity to learn and work collaboratively with Hayat Brown’s advisory team. Our advisory practice is engaged in some of the nation’s most exciting major development projects, offering real-time exposure that most engineers would not otherwise experience. This integration of engineering and advisory expertise is a hallmark of Hayat Brown and enhances each engineer’s professional growth by providing insights into real estate, public-private partnerships, and economic development strategies alongside technical project delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 8+ years of post-education experience delivering technical engineering services
- Experience with roadway, utility, drainage, and stormwater management systems
- Proficiency in OpenRoads and MicroStation
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification
- Strong knowledge of transportation-related infrastructure design in urban settings
- Familiarity with DOT procedures and industry regulations
- Excellent organizational and communication skills

Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $130,000 – $160,000
