Design Phase Constructability for the CSX Virginia Avenue Tunnel Reconstruction

Description:

The Virginia Avenue Tunnel had a single track that accommodates one train at a time. Reconstruction of the Virginia Avenue Tunnel to increase the tunnel width, install a second track, and raise the height of the tunnel roof to make room for double-stack intermodal container trains.

Hayat Brown’s Role:

Constructability review of the assets within the DDOT right-of-way (ROW), requiring a total reconstruction of the roadway and sidewalks, relocation of existing utilities, and updating and upgrading all DDOT infrastructure and facilities impacted by the Project.
