Construction Project Manager 

Job Description 

Manage Construction Inspection projects for federal, state, and local government projects.  

Job Duties:

  • Set up the schedule of values. 
  • Own and manage all aspects of the projects and ensure projects come in on time and within budgets, while managing the schedule on an ongoing basis. 
  • Handle submittals and keep submittal registries up to date. 
  • Develop and update project schedules, safety and quality control plans, environmental controls and related documents. 
  • Develop proper RFIs as needed. 
  • Develop estimates for change orders. 
  • Write and manage change orders. 
  • Assist with scope reviews. 
  • Write and buyout contracts. 
  • Manage project closeout documents. 
  • Build strong and long-term relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and clients.  
  • Lead and manage recurring project status meetings with client and corporate stakeholders. 
  • Ensure that safety, and client-specific regulations and codes were considered and followed during construction. 
  • Attend contractor’s project meetings and all other related project meetings.  

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 15 years of construction experience with commercial, federal, or other public projects 
  • 5 years of experience as a Project Manager for commercial, federal, or other public projects between $5M and $50+M in value 
  • Experience managing 3 or more projects at the same time as a Project Manager 
  • Valid driver’s license and candidate must be insurable  
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening 
  • Advanced skill with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, Project) and project management software tools 
  • Experience managing construction projects on industrial or manufacturing complexes 
  • Current OSHA 30 certification  
  • Current CQM certification or ability to obtain as required by client engagements 
  • Scheduling experience 
  • Knowledge of building and construction crafts or knowledge of transportation infrastructure (roadway, bridges, hydraulics, traffic control, etc.) since detailed inspections must be made to ensure the required level of workmanship 
  • Familiarity with specialized trades (MEP, structural, fire suppression, security systems, etc.) 
  • Ability to meet the position’s requirement for significant physical presence and movement at indoor and outdoor construction site environments with uneven terrain, variable environmental conditions, including heat, cold, dust, noise, moisture, and dryness 
  • Ability to wear associated personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to gloves, safety glasses/goggles, face shield, safety shoes/boots, hard hat, hearing protection, and fall protection  
  • Ability to interact with clients and contractors using professionalism, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in field related to construction management (e.g., engineering, operations, construction management, etc.) 
  • Primavera P6 and MS Project scheduling experience  
  • Field experience  
  • Experience with wide range of trades, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, roofing, and general building and traffic construction 
  • Knowledge of EM 385-1 Safety Requirements 
  • CQM Certification 
  • Experience writing Quality Control and Safety plans, as well as Project Plans for proposals preferred

  • Fair Labor Standards Act Exempt position with compensation based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. 
  • No relocation benefits offered.
